Paestum, Velia and seaside resorts in the Cilento region
- Acciaroli: seaside resort within the municipal district Pollica and symbol for eco-sustainable tourism: since 10 years it is one of the most appreciated locations for its clean sea and beautiful beaches.
- Paestum: 3 impressive and well preserved Doric temples stick out of the archaeological area which is rich of vestiges of culture. The site is symbol of the Sele floodplain and, rightly, one of Italy's most visited sites.
- Palinuro: well known seaside resort of the Cilento region and famous for its night life and above all for its marine grottoes and the Arco Naturale
- Velia: the archaeological site Elea/Velia is just 6 km away from our main building. Here you can see vestiges of culture and remains dating back to 540 B.C. such as the amphitheatre, the remains of an ionic temple and the Porta Rosa
- Padula e Pertosa: The biggest abbey in south Italy and one of the best known speleological treasures of the world: the San Lorenzo charter house and the Pertosa grottoes (Grotte dell'Angelo), which are crossed underground by the river Tanagro. They can be visited partly on foot and partly on boats.
Di fronte alla casa sui colli del Cilento...
Di fronte alla casa
sui colli del Cilento
la superba Elea turrita
entra nel mare
e Porta Rosa buca il crinale
separando notte e giorno
ancora
come agli occhi di Parmenide.
Poco avanti
la foce del placido Alento,
poco lontano
Palinuro da Morfeo rapito.
Dalle finestre
tra le pietre unite
da calce antica
si guarda l’azzurro mare
e la sua voce
tra ulivi secolari
racconta favole infinite
a chi sa ascoltare.
